Jarabe de Palo
Pau Donés, Catalan from Barcelona, was playing in several groups before being able to carry out his current project, Jarabe de Palo.
The success would come after a trip to Cuba, where he had the inspiration that would lead him to writte La Flaca which gave title to his first disc of the same name in 1996. After this success on the first disc Pau was seeking to demonstrate that the group was more than a single, and with this idea he composed “Depende” (1999). This disc possessed collaborations with Ketama and continued with an ironic poetry that managed to connect with part of the Spanish public and also with the Italian.
In 2001 they published “De vuelta y vuelta ", a disc more conceptual in which they counted with collaborations as those of Antonio Vega, Jovanotti, Vico C and Celia Cruz.
In 2003 the band tries to show a return to more vitalist and positive songs with "Bonito", with participations as those of Mártires del Compás, the flamenco singer Elena Andújar and the Italian friend Jovanotti.
Already in autumn of 2004 promises to be the tour of presentation of their new work "1 m2" (A square meter). The group presented at the beginning of 2007 their new qualified album "Adelantando", with the first single: Ole, that demonstrated once again what this group is worth.
