Maria Luz Casal Paz (Boimorto, on November 11, 1958), known artistically as Luz Casal, is a spanish singer of pop-rock, one of the solists most valued of the popular spanish music. After her successes inside the country in the eighties, she achieved international reputation, especially in France, after including two of her themes in the movie “Tacones Lejanos”, of Pedro Almodóvar.

On January 16, 2007 Luz  is produced of a cancer of breast and June 20 reports on her web page that has overcome the disease, hanging on October 12 the first single, Sé Feliz, of her new album, “Vida Tóxica”, title that refers to the chemotherapy received during the treatment of the cancer. The disc put to the sale on November 21, with collaborations of Carlos Goñi, Luis Auserón and Paul Guerrero, among others.
