Estopa
Estopa is a pop's Spanish duo rock who plays of Catalan rumba created in 1999, by the brothers Muñoz, David (voice) and Jose (guitar). The group is native from Cornellà de Llobregat. With their first disc they obtained a few sales near to 1.800.000 copies, achieving this way the recognition in their natal country and later in such countries as Mexico, Chile and Argentina. Their other three discs have followed the formula that so much success has given them, "urban rumbas". They spent their infancy listening to very popular sets of rumba in the eighties, specially The Chichos, The Chunguitos or Bordon 4, one day their father decided to give them paths Spanish guitars.
Their first words of songs were in preparation during the working hours in SEAT's factory, where both were working producing pieces for cars.
In this epoch they recorded a tape with 40 songs in a friend´s house using a blender of four tracks. It spread from hand to hand and in networks p2p (in format mp3) across the whole Spain. The success was sweeping, and in the year 99 they recorded their first album début: "Estopa", with wich they obtained sales of a million discs. Later, in 2001, they would surprise with "Estrangis", in the year 2004 with “¿La Calle es tuya? " And finally in 2005 with "Voces de Ultratumba".
After two more years of musical easing they have started recording their fifth qualified disc "Allenrok", which is the name of their city, Cornellà, written upside-down.
